Making sure that you arrive at the right
parking area for the size of your vehicle is part of
making your stay hassle free and here you can find such
places to park. Most reside in the outer areas of the
town centre's heart but only 5 minutes away from shopping
areas and places of interest.
Some
commercial coaches may want to drop off their
passengers closer to the town centre and then park. You can find about this as well.
The
one place that all large vehicles should
park is at Priory Bridge Road car park opposite the Somerset
County Cricket ground. It can be found on our town map
by clicking here.
This car park has spaces for Winnebago's, caravan's,
haulage lorries and trailers. Once parked one can take a
5 minute stroll along the River Tone, which leads to the
heart of the town centre, or one can take the bridge that
crosses the River Tone. Just cross over to Safeway's
supermarket and take the picturesque walk along the
pedestrian designed river walk and cross over the river
via the Tone footbridge to the Brewhouse Theatre.
If you are making your way to the
Somerset County Museum at Taunton Castle you can also
find coach parking at Tangier car park.
Dropping
Off A Group of Passengers
There are many local bus stops throughout Taunton Town
Centre but it is always recommended to use bus stops
that aren't used heavily by the local bus service. These
being mainly in the heart of the centre and can be found on our town map by
clicking here.
But do remember that these bus stops are not really
designated for commercial or private short term waiting.
So
if you have a group of people that need to congregate for
departure for longer than 15 minutes we recommend using
the Priory Bridge Road car park.
