Make your wishes known. That’s the message going out to Taunton
businesses being urged to come along and say what they want to see
in an Action Plan for the town.
The Taunton Town Centre Company is currently holding 24
meetings for the centre’s businesses to come and have their say.
Following that an Action Plan will be drawn up, as part of the
campaign for Taunton town centre to become a Business Improvement
District (BID).
The meetings are being held at 6pm by members of the BID Working
Group, together with town centre manager Lucy Ball. And businesses
are being invited on a street by street basis to come along to the
Old Municipal Buildings and have their say about what they want in
the town centre.

“The BID will affect everyone and this is a real opportunity for
people to tell us their ideas so they can be included in the Action
Plan,” said Lucy Ball.
BID Taunton is part of a national programme for businesses to work
together to regenerate their towns and cities.
The campaign to become a BID was officially launched in October and
many town centre businesses both large and small are getting
actively involved. A vote on becoming a BID will take place in July
next year.
