Voting in favour of BID Taunton offers you the chance to shape
improvements to your trading environment and boost business
performance.
You decide what extra services you want - because it's your
investment, paid for by a small levy. That funding can then be used
to source matched funding from elsewhere.
Designed to add value
The improvements you choose will add hugely to what the local
authority already does, but not in any way replace it. These can
vary widely - from extra security to exciting festive events and
cleaner streets. During the coming months you'll have the chance to
identify the improvements you believe will really affect your
profits, and the BID Taunton proposal will be put together. Voting
will be in July 2007, in a postal ballot run by the local authority.

Protect everyone's interests
The interests of large and small businesses are protected by a
system requiring a successful BID vote to have a simple majority -
both for positive votes and for the rateable value of the businesses
which cast them.
BID Taunton would have a lifespan of up to five years and further
proposals would then have to be reaffirmed by a fresh vote. If you'd
