The South Circuit - High Street to The Market House

Even though this is one of the smaller circuits in the town centre the South Circuit is one of the busiest during the day. With a multitude of eating and drinking places in one area you can choose to sit outside or in and takeaway.

Inviting all families, workers and shoppers alike throughout the day this circuit has a lot of choice on offer and with Vivary Park next door the South Circuit is great for sitting in the park and enjoying your lunch picnic style. Why not take the children to feed the ducks while your there!

Wherever you choose to eat the South Circuit is a great place to shop too and when you've done enough shopping the evening changes the pubs to drink serving only accompanied by some local wine bars and restaurants.

  • Cafes and Cafe Restaurants -  These are mainly situated on the High Street and in the Old Market shopping Centre.  Crown Walk, just off the High Street also offers a wide range of refreshments and so does Hatchers department store. Some can also be found in Bath Place - See West Circuit.
  • Pubs and Pub Grub - The public houses that provide ale and or food are mainly found on the High Street and offer outside seating as well. If you turn right at the top of the High Street, while facing the grand Vivary Park gates, and walk towards County Hall you will also find others. In the evening the public houses in the High Street mainly stop serving food and only serve drink.
  • Sandwich Bars & Takeaways - The cafes already mentioned serve sandwiches and light meals but if you are on the move and need a takeaway then you'll find a variety of businesses that serve freshly made goods throughout the South Circuit. High Street and the Old Market Centre offer a wide range of local and national bakeries who serve pies, pasties, sandwiches, cakes and much more. In the evening all takeaway shops close in the evening with the exception of Burger King.
  • Restaurants - The South Circuit offers a small handful of restaurants and like most restaurants you will find these mainly open at night but some like Le Bon Vie do offer quality food and drink during the day. Take a left turning toward at the top of the High Street, while facing the grand Vivary Park gates, and then left again and you will find Indian food and access to parking for all the South Circuit.
