The East Circuit - East Reach to The Market House

You will find every kind of eating and drinking place here on the East Circuit, from nationally known burger and chicken companies to small bistro's and family run restaurants.

The two main roads East Reach and East Street join together to make one long road of shops, restaurants, wine bars, takeaways, pubs and more. So if your unsure about where to eat just take a stroll through the East Circuit and you're sure to find something that tickles your taste buds.

East Street is where you will find MacDonalds and Kentucky Fried Chicken. However, Burger King fans will need to look in the South Circuit on the High Street and Wimpy lovers should look in the North Circuit. But all are within a 5 minute walk of each other.

  • Cafes and Cafe Restaurants -  These are mainly situated on East Street and Fore Street and offer gourmet coffee from big names such as Starbucks and Costa. The more traditional English places can be found via the small side streets such as Wyvern Place found opposite Waterstones.
  • Pubs and Pub Grub - The public houses that provide ale and or food are mainly situated on East Reach and East Street. Places such as the The Race Horse, Perkin Warbeck, The White Hart, Malt 'n' Hops and Victoria Inn are just some to look out for and offer great value.
  • Sandwich Bars & Takeaways - The cafes already mentioned serve sandwiches and light meals but if you are on the move and need a takeaway then you'll find a variety of businesses that serve freshly made goods throughout the East Circuit. East Reach offers the more homemade touch with places such as Barry the Bakers and Sarah's Diary, while East Street offers outlets such as Sainsburys and Marks & Spencer. In the evening most takeaways such as kebab shops, pizza places, Indian, English and Chinese takeaways are mainly found on East Reach.
  • Restaurants - The East Circuit offers many styles from around the world and like most restaurants you will find these mainly open at night. You can choose Cantonese, Indian, Greek, Italian, English and Chinese. Most are situated between East Reach & East Street. This area of the town centre also offers many small bistro's and wine bars so you always find something for everyone on the East Circuit.
