National Family Week's
Giant Picnic,
In Taunton Town Centre
The Taunton Town Centre Company in collaboration with the Brewhouse Theatre and Arts Centre and the Perfect 5th Café and live music venue are organising a giant picnic on the High Street in Taunton’s town centre to celebrate the beginning of National Family Week. We are attempting to break a Guinness World Record currently held by Spain, for the most people picnicking nationally at the same time.
Come and join us on the High Street, on 25th May Bank Holiday Monday from 11am until 4pm (picnic must start at 1pm). We have a myriad of things for families and children to do; local food and craft stalls,
children’s activity areas, the Woodland Play Centre’s Tent, the fabulously crafty Creation Station, facepainters, circus performers and workshops, The Story telling Storytree and many more. There will be gardening activities from the Transition Town Movement, an ‘experience and do’ stall from Somerset Wildlife and The Museum of Somerset will be bringing something that will help you experience the past!
Jeremy Brown MP will start the picnic at 1pm prompt
alongside the Blackdown Samba Band. Bring friends and
family, a blanket, 2 courses and a cushion or chair to
sit on. The event will be photographed and you must
register your group between 11am and 12.45pm to be in
the count.
