Enjoy
Visual Arts
Throughout Taunton and Somerset
If you love visual art then you will love Somerset Art
Week because this bi-ennial showcase of visual art
includes sculpture, painting, photography, textiles,
print, pottery, furniture, lighting, basketry, film,
glass, media, metalwork, jewellery, ceramics and much,
much more.
The
Somerset Art Week exists to promote the visual arts and
create opportunities for visual artists. Throughout
Somerset you can choose from over 260 venues ranging
from open studios, exhibitions, residencies,
installations and special events. The showcase is
usually held in September and shows the best of
established artists and makers as well as from those
with emerging talent.
It started
in 1994 and since that time Somerset Art Week has provided a
wonderful opportunity for visual artists and makers of
all kinds to show their work and open up their studios
to a highly appreciative public. It has also enabled
artists themselves to become more aware of each other's
existence and the rich mix of creative activity, which
they provide within Somerset.

The biennial Art Week has become an important event in
Somerset's calendar, delighting art lovers from near and
far, so whether your looking to delight your home or
business with art, wanting to have a great afternoon
out, looking to commission your ideas or just like to do
something alternative during your stay, Somerset Art
Week has something to offer everyone.
